How much gravel do I need?
Volume (cu yd) = Area (sq ft) × Depth (ft) ÷ 27. For a driveway: 2–4 inches depth is typical. Multiply by density (~1.5 tonnes/cu yd) for weight.
How deep should gravel be for a driveway?
4 inches for light traffic, 6 inches for vehicles. Use a compactable base layer plus a decorative top layer for best results.
How many bags of gravel do I need?
A 20kg bag covers ~0.01–0.02 cu m at 50mm depth. Divide your volume in cubic metres by 0.015 for an estimate.
